FAIRBORN — Fairborn City Schools have announced plans to construct a multi-sport training facility as part of the Fairborn High School construction project.

In a board of education meeting Oct. 17, the board approved the training facility that was part of the May 2023 bond issue. The facility was the last item promised from the bond issue, which includes baseball fields, softball fields, tennis courts, and band turf practice fields.

In a release, the district also said that revenue from the bond will also be used toward improvements at Fairborn Primary School, abatement and demolition of Baker Middle School, and funds for the new middle school to be built on Commerce Center Boulevard.

“These facilities provide our students with opportunities to grow and excel and we are very excited for our students and families,” said Superintendent Gene Lolli.

The new high school is scheduled to open in August 2024. The district is in the planning stages and will be hosting events to welcome staff and the community to visit and tour the new building.
