Concert tickets featured at Chamber’s Quarter Raffle
FAIRBORN — Two tickets to the Dierks Bentley World Tour Concert and two tickets to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra at the Wright State University Nutter Center will headline more than 100 items featured at the Fairborn Chamber and Senior Center quarter raffle. Prizes also will include a 32-inch LED TV, a variety of top shelf kitchen appliances and direct sales products. Doors open at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11 with the raffle beginning at 7 p.m. The Senior Center is located at 325 N. Third Street in Fairborn. Greenon High School Drama Club to present “You Can’t Take it With You”
ENON — It may be 2016, but the Greenon Drama Club has selected a comedy copyrighted first in 1936 to be performed beginning 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11 and Saturday, Nov. 12 in the Greenon High School cafeteria. Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman penned “You Can’t Take it With You” as a three-act comedy that spoke to the times. Two families, two different lifestyles — one off-the-wall and uninhibited, one straight-laced and over driven. The outcome speaks to the title and attendees can be sure to enjoy the laughs and results if they plan to attend the performance.
American Legion Auxiliary Annual Christmas Bazaar
FAIRBORN — The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 526 is hosting its 24th Annual Christmas Bazaar 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12 at the American Legion facility, 526 Legion Lane. The unit will sell items such as craft items, candies — including buckeyes, chocolate peanut clusters and chocolate covered pretzels — as well as several opportunities to win raffled baskets and a musical Santa. Additional vendors will sell craft items during the event as well. The kitchen will be open 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
DAR to recognize Vietnam veterans
ENON — The Rebecca Galloway Chapter DAR will be recognizing the sacrifice and dedication of local Vietnam War Veterans beginning 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12 meeting at the Enon Community Research Center, 45 Indian Drive. Ten local veterans have been invited to be recognized for their patriotism. The DAR has long been aware that Vietnam veterans never received the honor they deserved, and this meeting will be one way to show appreciation.
Honeysuckle Removal in the Wenrick Wetlands
MEDWAY — Volunteers are needed to help with the removal of honeysuckle at the Estel Wenrick Wetlands 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, Nov. 19. Interrested individuals should meet in the parking lot at the traffic light in Medway, 2855 Union Road. Questions, contact Barb Hensley or Jess Evans.
Council meeting
FAIRBORN — The next regular council meeting will take place 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21 within the council chambers at the Fairborn Government Center, 40 W. Hebble Ave. Regular council meetings always take place the first and third Mondays of each month at the same time and place, unless otherwise noted.
Poinsettia sale to benefit Fairborn Music Club
FAIRBORN — The Fairborn Music Club is hosting its annual poinsettias sale, which is aimed to support the Fairborn music department to off-set uniform cost. The club is offering poinsettias in four different colors — red, pink, white and marble. Poinsettias are also offered in four sizes — 4 inches for $6; 6.5 inches for $10; 7.5 inches for $19, 10 inches for $27. Orders with 10 or more items will receive a discount of $1 off each item. Orders are due by Thursday, Nov. 17; pickup is scheduled for 4:30-6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28 at Fairborn High School. Email [email protected] for more information.
BOE meeting
FAIRBORN — The Fairborn City School District Board of Education invites the public to its meetings, which take place 6:30 p.m. the first Thursday of each month within the library at Fairborn High School, 900 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road. The next school board meeting will take place Thursday, Dec. 1.
Fairborn Art Association extends invitation
FAIRBORN — For individuals looking to exercise their creativity, the Fairborn Art Association would like to extend an invitation to attend its monthly meetings and art demonstrations. Attendees learn techniques for everything from oil, acrylic, pastel and watercolor painting to quilling. Meetings also provide the opportunity for area artists and art lovers to mingle with people of similar interests. Hauler’s License application deadline approaching
CLARK COUNTY — The Clark County Combined Health District (CCCHD) is reminding all those who haul garbage, rubbish or other solid waste in the City of Springfield and Clark County it is time to renew or obtain a solid waste hauler’s license from the CCCHD.
All current license or registration will expire on Saturday, Dec. 31. Applications for 2017 are due to the CCCHD by Friday, Dec. 9. Road closure
BEAVERCREEK TOWNSHIP — Indian Ripple Road will be closed for approximately three weeks for utility work beginning Monday, Oct. 31 according to the Greene County Engineer’s Office. The closure will be between James River Road and South Alpha Bellbrook Road. All scheduled closures are subject to weather conditions.

PIQUA — The Council on Rural Service Programs, Inc. announces sponsorship of the USDA-funded Child and Adult Care Food Program in three locations: Kids Learning Place – Fairborn 344 N. Maple St., Kids Learning Place – Xenia 1369 Colorado Dr., and Kids Learning Place – Jamestown 53 N. Limestone.
Legion community participation
FAIRBORN — American Legion Auxiliary Unit 526 General membership meetings are held 6:30 p.m. the third Monday of the month at Legion Post 526, 526 Legion Lane. All members are encouraged to attend. The executive committee meets the first Monday of the month at the same location.
The Unit also holds a Roast Beef Hot Shot Dinner 5-7:30 p.m. the fourth Friday of each month at the Post. The funds raised are used to support Auxiliary programs, such as Children & Youth Adopt a Military Family for Christmas, donations to Fairborn Easter Egg Hunt, Post Children’s Christmas Party, Education & Scholarship donations, Community Service programs such as Monthly Bingo games at two Nursing Homes, Wii Bowling tournaments, and Others.
Senior center homemakers
FAIRBORN – The Fairborn Senior Center is accepting applications for part-time homemakers. Hours will vary. Applicants must pass a background check and drug screen, and they must also have a valid driver’s license and car insurance. Apply at 325 N. Third St.
Minimalists meet
YELLOW SPRINGS — Dayton Minimalists meet 7 p.m. every third Thursday of the month at the John Bryan Center, Yellow Springs.
