FAIRBORN — Fairborn’s American Legion Hall is opening itself up with fresh offerings: it is now open for lunch at 11 a.m. daily and Friday is Taco Day from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., welcoming the public to enjoy the space.
Individuals do not need to be a member of Post 526 to participate.
The kitchen and bar are open until 8 p.m. every day, including Sunday. “Bar and grill” food items, such as hamburgers and Rueben sandwiches, are available all day, every day. Dinners are served from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday evenings and meeting nights, which are the third Tuesday of every month. Depending on the Friday, dinner could be broasted chicken (and other meats on request), meat loaf, cabbage rolls, roast beef hot shots or baked spaghetti.
The third Friday of every month is trivia night, an event for which the public is also welcome. Pizza and broasted chicken are always on the menu for trivia night.
Post 526 still has commemorative coins available for a donation of $25. In addition, Post 526 officials are raffling off a solid oak roll-top desk. Tickets are $10. A total of only 100 tickets will be sold and there are still a few left. The drawing for the desk will be on Tuesday, Aug. 30.
Post 526 officials would also like to remind all civic organizations and other interested individuals that the banquet hall is available for holiday bazaars and parties. The Post is taking reservations now.
