Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band to perform

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE — Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band will perform a USO show for airmen and their families at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base 6 p.m. Saturday, July 2 in the Area A, Hangar 4016.

Best known for his Oscar-nominated portrayal of “Lt. Dan Taylor” in “Forrest Gump”, Sinise has worked in the industry for more than five decades and gone on to star in countless blockbuster films and television shows. Currently starring in CBS’ “Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders,” the actor/humanitarian has been a dedicated USO supporter since 2003.

Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band – a 12-member cover band, have participated in more than 145 USO tours and conducted more than 335 live performances for service members and their families stationed all around the world. A program of the Gary Sinise Foundation, the Lt. Dan Band entertains, educates, inspires and builds communities with their high-energy shows, boosting morale on military bases at home or abroad. The group covers everything from classics to contemporary songs and much more, to include Pop, Rock, Blues, Motown, Soul, Country, even tunes from the 1940s big band era.

The concert, sponsored by the USO and the Gary Sinise Foundation, is free and open to all DoD ID card holders only. Gate 26A (off State Route 235) will be open from 5 to 10:30 p.m. to allow access/egress to the hangar. Hangar doors will open at 6 p.m. No video or audio recording, backpacks, chairs, or ice coolers are permitted.
