XENIA — As school starts back up, the Greene County Combined Health District is urging parents to immunize their children.
“Parents should contact their health care provider or Greene County Public Health to ensure all required immunizations have been provided to their child prior to the first day of school,” a release from the district stated. “Children who go to school without the required vaccinations risk being excluded from school until all requirements are met. They also risk becoming ill.”
Incoming kindergarten students are required to have:
– Two doses of the Measles, Mumps and Rubella vaccination (MMR)
– Two doses of the Varicella vaccination (chickenpox)
– Three doses of the Hepatitis B vaccination
– Three to four doses of the Polio vaccination (IPV)
– Four to five doses of the DTaP vaccination (whooping cough)
Incoming seventh-grade students are required to have: One dose of the TDaP vaccination (whooping cough).
