TRYOUTS

Film company hosting local tryouts June 15 and 16

BELLBROOK — Baseball fans in the Miami Valley can directly participate in a crowd funding initiative at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on June 15 and 16 at Bellbrook High School. Registration will take place at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. each day.

The initiative incorporates a talent search by nominating baseball players and non-players to play key roles in a movie titled “Last At Bat,” based on a novel by Kettering resident Mark Donahue.

The program, titled The Search for Dylan Michael, will seek baseball players from the ages of 8-25 to play Michael (the story’s main character) at various stages of his life in addition to non-players for other roles.

As part of the Last at Bat crowd funding project, persons who donate at least $50 at www.LastAtBatTheMovie.com will receive a myriad of thank you gifts based on the amount of their donation, including passes to attend the auditions to be held in Bellbrook. However, auditions are open to anyone.

The three winning participants ultimately selected will each receive a $5,000 acting fee, and up to 100 players – girls, boys, men and women of all ages – are needed to play teammates and opponents in the film. Men and women are also needed to play coaches, umpires, extras and other roles.

Players are encouraged to register online, but may register the day of the event. This is the second Miami Valley tryout. There will be up to 15 tryouts across the country over the next six months.

Several rounds of tryouts will occur this spring and summer. Times, dates and locations will be announced on www.LastAtBatTheMovie.com as well as other information. Final casting selections will be made around September 30, 2015.
