Wright State’s bomb-sniffing dog hangs up her leash

FAIRBORN — K9 officers from across the Miami Valley attended a retirement celebration in the Student Union for Wright State bomb-detection officer, Galli.

On May 24, Galli and her handler police Sgt. Kurt Holden were recognized for their service to Wright State and the surrounding communities.

For the last six years, Holden and Galli have worked every major event on campus and events at the Wright State Nutter Center.

“Every time WWE came to town, Galli and me were there. Every time there’s a graduation, me and Galli were there. Every time there was a sold out concert, me and Galli,” said Holden.

Holden says that Galli should have no problems adjusting to retirement. Holden anticipates that Galli will gain some weight because “everybody does in retirement.”
