XENIA — Robert Armstrong was born in Scotland and educated at the University of Edinburg. Following his ordination as a Presbyterian minister in 1797, he came to America as a Missionary. He began preaching in Kentucky, but was unhappy with the slavery issue so when invited to Greene County he came, along with some of his former congregation members. He was instrumental in establishing the Massie’s Creek and Sugar Creek congregations. He died in 1821 and is buried in Stevenson Cemetery.
