GREENE COUNTY — Citizens are reminded to drop off their unwanted prescription drugs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29 at four locations.
The four participating locations are:
Greene County Sheriff’s Office, 120 E. Main St., Xenia
Fairborn Police Department, 70 W. Hebble Ave., Fairborn
Beavercreek Police Department, 1388 Research Park Drive, Beavercreek
Sugarcreek Township Police Department, 4398 Clyo Road, Dayton
These agencies will accept medicines in pill and capsule form. No liquids or needles will be accepted.
“It helps — one — get unneeded prescription drugs out of kids’ hands. If they don’t have the drugs available to them then they’re not going to use them. Two — it helps the environment because people flush them down [the toilet] and you don’t want to do that,” Greene County Sheriff Gene Fischer said.
Greene County Career Center’s police academy students will assist law enforcement in Prescription Drug Turn-in Day, which is a national event and is held twice a year in Greene County.
