Police cruiser strikes deer

ENON — An Enon police cruiser struck a deer approximately 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30 on Route 4 between Enon and Springfield. The cruiser was heavily damaged.

The driver, Lt. Mike Holler and his passenger, Officer Robert Durham, were returning from Springfield Regional Hospital where they had been interviewing the victim of an earlier reported robbery in Enon.

Both Enon Officers were taken to Springfield Regional Hospital by Mad River Twp. Fire/EMS, where they were treated for their injuries and later released. Both officers are expected to return to duty in the next day or so.

The investigation surrounding the cruiser and deer is being handled by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
