FAIRBORN — K9 units from three local police departments sprang into action Wednesday when an individual escaped from the Fairborn Jail.
Heikeem Foy, 18, at large, was in the Fairborn Police Department’s interview room being questioned Wednesday morning after being arrested Tuesday for breaking and entering, in which he managed to leave the building. Upon realizing his absence at approximately 10:10 a.m., the search began; Foy was detained once again by 10:38.
The Fairborn Police are currently investigating how he escaped. Additional charges for his departure from the Fairborn Jail will be forthcoming.
Fairborn Police Sergeant Mark Stannard said a training involving K9 units was being held Wednesday, including dogs from the Fairborn, Springfield and Miami Township, who assisted and apprehended Foy. No one was injured.
