FAIRBORN — World-renowned water color artist, workshop leader and author Ann Abgott will demonstrate her award-winning techniques at the Fairborn Artist Association’s monthly meeting Tuesday, Nov. 1.
Abgott, who also plans to host a workshop at the FAA gallery, Nov. 1-3, has been called “an outstanding teacher with great ideas and innovations,” by local artists. She’s been painting since childhood, starting in oils — mentored by Alexander Luke, one of Canada’s premier artists. She moved to watercolors after her move to Florida in 1998, where she said she had been strongly influenced by the light and color she finds there.
An acclaimed mentor and master teacher, she’s been an “art mom” to her students, many of whom have gone on to become accomplished and award-winning artists themselves. She also has conducted more than 100 workshops and is in demand as a juror for many exhibitions. Abgott has achieved Signature status in seven National Watercolor Societies.
Those interested in attending the demonstration are welcome to attend the FAA meeting, which is free of charge, beginning 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1 at the FAA Gallery, in the rear of the building at 221 North Central Ave.
