‘Creek VB tops Xenia
BEAVERCREEK — The Beavercreek volleyball team advanced in tournament play Oct. 20 with a 25-6, 25-10, 25-6 win over Xenia. The Beavers play Miamisburg 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22.
Beavers blank Bellefontaine
BEAVERCREEK — The Beavercreek Express rolled on in a Division-I boys soccer tournament, beating Bellefontaine, 4-0, Oct. 20. It was Creek’s 12th shutout in 17 games. Dominic Calabrese had a pair of goals, while Preston Casey and Mark Rzecznik each had one. Vince Young, Evan DeWine, Nicholas Togliatti and Jonah Ackerson had assists. The Beavers play the winner of Northmont-Greenville 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24 at Centerville’s Alumni Stadium.

Shows headed back to TJ Chumps
FAIRBORN — TJ Chumps and Wright State Athletics will once again host the WSU Coaches Shows on Monday nights throughout the season at the Fairborn TJ Chumps location. The 12 Mondays will feature new men’s coach Scott Nagy 6-7 p.m. with six of those 5:30-6 p.m. Mondays featuring new women’s coach Katrina Merriweather.
The shows will welcome fans in person, but also be aired on WONE 980 AM, and streamed through the wsuraiders.com website or through Facebook. Chris Collins, entering his 20th season as the Voice of the Raiders, will act as the host along with his radio partner, former WSU coach Jim Brown. The show will include questions from Collins and Brown as well as fans and video highlights from previous games and visits from players and assistant coaches.
Norman third in International vote
BONN, Germany — Cedarville freshman and Paralympic Games gold and bronze medalist Grace Norman finished third in international balloting for the Allianz Best Female of the Month for September. Competitive shooter Sareh Javanmardidodmani of Iran won with 41 percent of the vote, just edging out Italian wheelchair fencer Beatrice Vio of Italy, who received 39 percent of the vote. Norman was next with 19 percent. New Zealand swimmer Sophie Pascoe, Nigerian powerlifter Josephine Orji and China swimmer Li Zhang were also nominees.

Hockey holding alumni golf outing
BEAVERCREEK — The 2016-17 season marks the 20th anniversary of the Beavercreek varsity hockey program and in celebration, the program will hold the first Beavercreek Varsity Hockey Alumni Friends & Family Golf Scramble. It will be held Saturday, Oct. 22 at Locust Hills Golf Course in Springfield. Included with the $80 entry fee are 18 holes of golf, cart, driving range, box lunch, dinner, and the chance to participate in a silent auction, raffle, and some fun games and competitions on and off the course.

Junior Raider Cheerleader camp
FAIRBORN — The Wright State University Raider cheerleaders and dancers will hold registration and training camp for the 2016-17 Junior Raider Cheerleaders program 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 and 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23 at the Wright State Nutter Center. Clark State to Volley for the Cure
SPRINGFIELD – Clark State Community College will host the Ninth annual Volley for the Cure event, at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26 in the gymnasium on the Leffel Lane campus.
Teams from Clark State, Bobby Fisher Distributing and The Assurant Group will participate in Volley for the Cure. All monies raised are donated to the Breast Cancer Endowment Fund of Clark County. Additional activities include face painting, pumpkin painting, concessions, a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction.

BEAVERCREEK — Beavercreek’s basketball teams will be introduced 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22 at the Ed Zink Fieldhouse at Beavercreek High School. The boys and girls high school and middle school teams will there along with cheerleaders, the pep band, the Beaverettes and the Beavercreek Stars.
Meet the FHS girls basketball team
FAIRBORN — The Fairborn girls basketball team will be introduced from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5 in the Fairborn Baker Middle School Gymnasium. The Fairborn Skyhawks youth basketball teams, Baker Middle School seventh- and eighth-grade teams, Fairborn High School junior varsity and the Fairborn varsity Team will all be introduced to the public and will demonstrate their skills. There will be concessions available, a 50/50 raffle, prizes and more.
