YELLOW SPRINGS — The Yellow Springs Street Fair brings hundreds of arts and crafts vendors, international cuisine and talented entertainers to the village, aiming to showcase what Yellow Springs is all about.
The second and final street fair of the year takes place Saturday, Oct. 8.
Street Fair has incredible shopping for every taste and every budget, as artisans with beautiful handmade jewelry, clothing, ceramics and much more line the streets joining the dozens of locally-owned shops, boutiques and galleries.
Food is the star of every festival and Street Fair is no exception. Grab a hot dog, some bourbon chicken, a refreshing frozen treat or any of the other offerings and relax in the food tent at the Soin Stage. The Soin State will also allow attendees to enjoy a variety of acoustic music and belly dancing from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This time around, the Soin Stage is starting with Free Yoga on the Lawn taught by Monica Hasek from The Wellness Center at Antioch College.
The Street Fair Music and Beer Fest at the Bryan Center is open from noon to 7 p.m. The exciting musical lineup begins at noon with Soul River Symphony, followed by new bands on the hour including Zane and The Sway, Emma Woodruff and The Ruffians, The Mercury Curtain, Stark Folk Band, The LA Band and Spanish Tony Sanchez, before ending with BAOKU at 6 p.m.
The Music and Beer Fest is committed to serving local beer and reducing waste this year, partnering with Trenton, Ohio-based MillerCoors, landfill free since 2009 and local favorite Yellow Springs Brewery. Patrons can support waste reduction and save on every beer by purchasing a reusable stainless steel cup.
To make getting to Street Fair easier, use the free shuttle service from Young’s Dairy, 6800 Springfield-Xenia Road, or Yellow Springs High School, 420 E. Enon Road. The shuttle service is available from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Attendees can also ride bikes and use the free Bike Miami Valley bike valet service at the corner of Dayton Street and Route 68, adjacent to the Beer Garden. Attendees can also check YellowSpringsOhio.org for alternate routes.
Street Fair is free and open to the public. Handicapped parking is available at the Municipal Lot on Corry St. For the safety and comfort of all, Street Fair is a pet free festival by ordinance and owners will be asked to leave.
