XENIA — It’s that time of year again homecoming week has officially began.

The students at Xenia High School have began their week by dressing up as their favorite teacher. Tuesday is dress like a movie character day. Followed by Wednesday dress in your best preppy outfit. Then Thursday is school spirit day by wearing blue, black, and white.

Thursday will be the pep rally which includes games, announcement of senior athletes, and a performance by the Xenia High School hiphop team, drumline, and colorguard.

Since it is homecoming week, did you know homecoming originated in colleges and the big homecoming game was when all of the alumni returned.

Xenia’s big homecoming game is at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23 at Cox Stadium.

The homecoming festivities will begin at 6:30 p.m. Don’t miss out on the crowning of King and Queen.

Seniors of the Xenia football team, Daniel Beam and Kobe Hughlett said, “We encourage fans to come support us at our biggest game of the season. As a team we are ready to win and our goal is to win our conference.”

Homecoming week is not complete without the Homecoming dance from 8-11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 at the Xenia High School Gym.

Special thanks to Xenia’s student council for all their hard work in planning this week’s events.
