Tonight, the Xenia High School football program honors Mr. Daryl Hughlett as its honorary coach for the Sept. 9 home contest against Kettering Alter.

He moved to Xenia in the early 1980’s and attended Xenia High school, where he played basketball and football. Hughlett attended ITT Tech and has worked at Central State university for 18 years. He has served as a father figure to countless young men in Xenia. His influence has helped many of them to choose the right path and to become successful. His mentoring and coaching is invaluable to our community. Hughlett has been an active member of the Xenia community by coaching Wee Bucs football for 12 years. He also helped out by coaching the middle school football team for two years.

The senior football players chose Daryl Hughlett as honorary coach, because of the influence he has had on their lives, because of his commitment to Xenia, and his commitment to excellence. Congratulations to Daryl Hughlett, this week’s honorary football coach.
