FAIRBORN — Kim Demmings, who closed out her career as the all-time leading scorer in Wright State and Horizon League women’s basketball history, has signed to play professionally in Israel.
The 2015-16 Horizon League Player of the Year, Demmings led the league in scoring at 20.0 points per game and was fourth in threes made per game at 2.4, 10th in steals per game at 1.5 and 15th in rebounds per game at 6.0. She scored in double figures in 31 of 35 games this season, with her 35, Feb. 5 at Illinois Chicago ranking as the top scoring performance in the league for the season. Demmings tallied 20 or more points 19 times and 30 or more on four occasions.
The Horizon League Player of the Week on Nov. 22, Nov. 29 and Jan. 18, Demmings was chosen as a Third Team High-Major All-American by College Sports Madness after being selected as their High-Major Player of the Week on Nov. 22 and Feb. 8. She was also named to the league’s All-Tournament Team after scoring 70 points in three games and also recording 22 rebounds and 11 assists.
Named to the Naismith Watch List earlier in the season, Demmings is the all-time scorer in Horizon League women’s basketball and WSU history (men’s or women’s) with 2,677 points. Those 2,677 points are good for 33rd on the all-time Division I list. She reached double figures in scoring 121 times during her career, out of a possible 134 games, with 63 of those coming in league play.
Along with the scoring record, Demmings is WSU’s all-time leader in field goals made and attempted, three-pointers made and attempted, free throws made and attempted, assists, games played and minutes played.
