Piano duet recital

FAIRBORN — The students of Mary Anne Blazer Piano Studio are in a duet recital 3 p.m. Sunday, March 13 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 100 E. Main St. The recital has become an annual spring program for the Blazer piano students. There will be 22 students playing several genres of music from classical, hymns, popular and contemporary as well as show tunes. The students will be duetting with their mothers, a grandma, siblings or with Blazer. The students range in age from 5-to-18 years of age. The students are from Beavercreek, Dayton, Enon, Fairborn, Springfield and Yellow Springs. The piano duet program is free and open to the area communities.

Cub Scout fundraiser

FAIRBORN — Cub Scouts Pack 182 will be holding its annual Flea Market event March 12 and 13. It is one of the Cub’s biggest fundraiser. The proceeds from this sale send Scouts to camp, buy needed books or uniforms for the Scouts in need. It has about 70 Scouts at this present time, making it one of the largest Packs in Greene County. Donations can be sent to 5 N. Broad St. in Fairborn.

Lions Club annual pancake breakfast

FAIRBORN — The Fairborn Lions Club is having its annual pancake breakfast, consisting of all-you-can-eat pancakes and sausage, 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 12 at the Abiding Christ Lutheran Church, 326 E. Dayton Yellow Springs Rd. Entertainment will be provided by the Fairborn High School Jazz Band and Kathy Johnson’s Greater Dayton Suzuki orchestra will perform 9-11 a.m. Cost is $5 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Tickets can be purchased at the Fairborn Senior Center, Fairborn Chamber of Commerce and Abiding Christ Lutheran Church or at the door. All proceeds go to local Community projects. B-W Greenway Community Land Trust Annual Meeting

FAIRBORN —The B-W Greenway Community Land Trust is hosting its annual meeting 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 17 at the Fairborn Senior Center, 325 N. Third St. It will review its 2015 activities, discuss its financial report, its Green Hear Award, provide an overview of the B-W Greenway 2016 program, elect its board of trustees and present the B-W Greenway song. Jim Campbell, retired executive director of the Clark County Park District, will highlight interesting things about the Clark County Park District.

Senior center homemakers

FAIRBORN – The Fairborn Senior Center is accepting applications for part-time homemakers. Hours will vary. Applicants must pass a background check and drug screen, and they must also have a valid driver’s license and car insurance. Apply at 325 N. Third St.

Prevention session

YELLOW SPRINGS — Trainers from PreventionFIRST! will provide a Prevention 101/Parenting for Prevention workshop from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, April 15. The training session will be held at the Greene County Educational Service Center, 360 E. Enon Road, Yellow Springs. PreventionFIRST! is an organization focused on substance abuse prevention and the development of community-based coalitions. Scholarship offered

XENIA — The Greene County Master Gardeners organization is offering a one-time $1,000 scholarship to a graduating high school student who plans to attend an Ohio accredited two- or four-year college or university. The student must be a full-time resident of Greene County and plan to pursue a program in a field related to horticulture, turf management, landscape design or technology, soil science, entomology, pest management, botany-plant pathology or forest management.

Supervisor meeting

XENIA — The Greene Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors will hold their monthly board meetings on the third Thursday of each month at the District’s office, 1363 Burnett Drive. The meetings are open to the public and will begin at 6:30 p.m. Any change in meeting location or time will be posted on the district’s web page or in the newspaper.
