Greene County News

CENTERVILLE — Cabela’s announced Thursday that its new Greene County store will open April 7. The store will open with a unique ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a weekend-long celebration with giveaways, activities, guest appearances and more, according to a release from the outdoor retailer.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony, hosted by Cabela’s executives, will begin at 9:45 a.m. and conclude with the grand-opening ribbon being cut by an arrow shot from a bow by a local Cabela’s employee. The store’s doors will open for business at 10 a.m.

The 70,000-square-foot store is located at 5500 Cornerstone North Blvd., in the Cornerstone at Centerville development off Exit 7 of Interstate 675 near Wilmington Pike. Upon opening, it will become Cabela’s third retail location in Ohio, joining the Columbus store opened in 2013 and the West Chester location opened in 2015.

According to a release from the chain, Cabela’s has hired approximately 130 full-time, part-time and seasonal employees to staff the location, most coming from Centerville and the surrounding area. Pilling | Greene County News
