BEAVERCREEK — Miss America 2016, Betty Cantrell, will be trade in her tiara and sash for a spatula and apron next week in Beavercreek. Cantrell will flip pancakes and serve them to guests at the Beavercreek IHOP, 2460 North Fairfield Road, from 9 a.m. to noon, Thursday, Feb. 11, as a spokesperson for the pancake chain’s National Pancake Day charity fundraisers.

Later in the day, Cantrell will join children at Dayton Children’s Hospital for a pancake party.

On National Pancake Day, March 8, IHOP restaurants throughout the country will offer patrons a free short stack of pancakes. For each stack of pancakes, patrons are invited to donate to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and other local causes, according to a release from IHOP. Funds raised at Dayton-area IHOP restaurants will benefit Dayton Children’s Hospital.

According to IHOP, the company served 6.6 million free pancakes on National Pancake Day 2015, and patrons donated $3.5 million to children’s charities.
