XENIA & BEAVERCREEK – Health care has been a passion for Jeff Jones, and it was only natural the human resource professional found himself returning to Kettering Health Network (KHN) to serve Greene Memorial Hospital and Soin Medical Center.
As their director of human resources, he believes employees are the nucleus of an organization.
“We have programs that engage our staff – demonstrating to them just what a crucial part they play in this health care metric.”
Jones added, “My role as human resource director is to meet the needs our growth presents, matching qualified candidates to current and future positions. It’s more than just finding a person – its finding the talent that fits the character.”
Jones believes it is important to choose candidates that enjoy the KHN family atmosphere, “We get hundreds of applicants from individuals who may have all the educational qualifications and experience, but we also look at the character of the person. “
Jones worked for Kettering Health Network in the late 1980s. He has served in California and Florida with the Adventist Health System in Orlando and most recently in Maryland, before coming back to Ohio. He has a bachelor of science and MBA from the University of Phoenix.
Returning to the area, Jones was amazed to see the growth – especially around Beavercreek and Wright State—and is proud to be working with the two hospitals that continue to grow and adapt to the communities they serve.
“I’m so excited to see all this growth,” said Jones. “I’m thrilled to be part of the future of both Greene and Soin as they progress to match the needs of the communities.”
The new HR director appreciates the kind and caring tone that the hospitals present, “I feel like I came back home. It’s funny I’m coming across policies that I helped author some 25 years ago – that same core foundation has not changed at all.”
Jones is already enjoying his time working with staff and looks forward to meeting the present and future needs of the two hospitals.
In his free time, Jones loves to travel and go boating with his family – wife Janet, daughter Heather and son Chad as well as his two grandchildren.
