BEAVERCREEK — The Mall at Fairfield Commons opened its new entrance to hundreds of customers Friday morning. The new entrance area and three soon-to-be-opened new restaurants sit on the east side of the mall, replacing the now-demolished anchor store location previously occupied by Elder-Beerman for Her. Demolition on the project began in January, and construction was completed in recent weeks.
The entrance is what mall general manager Bruce Goldsberry called a “focal point” for the mall, a central entrance point for customers. Before the construction of the new entrance, the mall had smaller entrances around its perimeter, but no “main” entrance.
“…It’s the front and center,” Goldsberry said. “North Fairfield is a main thoroughfare. To have something of this magnitude, to demonstrate who we are … so that shoppers and everybody can see the mall, and this becomes a new focal point, more so than just an anchor.”
Three restaurants near the new entrance – Chuey’s Tex-Mex, Bravo Cucina Italiana and B.J.’s Brewhouse – are all in various stages of completion. According to Goldsberry, Chuey’s will open Nov. 24, Bravo in late January 2016 and B.J.’s in February 2016.
“…That’s just the beginning of what the community can expect … as we continue to invest in the community with retail and services and a shopping center,” Goldsberry said.
