XENIA — Voters in Greene County will be asked to approve .25 mill renewal levy for bridges on the ballot Nov. 3.
According to Greene County Engineer, Bob Geyer, the levy is expected to generate approximately $900 thousand.
Geyer said the money is used to repair, replace, and maintain the bridges throughout the county.
“Thank voters of Greene County for continuous support since 1965,” he said. “This renewal levy is very important because the bridges built in the 60s and 70s are coming upon their 50 year. With continuous support, Greene County will stay ahead of bridge problems.”
The .25 mill renewal levy will begin in 2016 and run for five years. According to the Greene County Board of Election the estimated cost value based on a $100,000 home would be approximately $7.34.
