Standoff comes to peaceful end

FAIRBORN – A three hour standoff in Fairborn came to a peaceful end Thursday after police on Warwick Place said the man holed up in a house is now in custody.

Police were called to the home just before noon Thursday to make a welfare check on the person living there.

Officers say the man showed a weapon when they tried to talk to him.

The Regional Response Team, which includes officers from Fairborn, Beavercreek, Huber Heights and Vandlalia, brought the incident to a close around 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8.
