Three Harners celebrate 50

XENIA — Three Harner brothers and their wives celebrated 150 combined years of marriage.

Fred and Coleen (Beiber) were married June 3; Glenn and Phyllis (Ringer) Harner were married Oct. 9; and Roy and Patty (Gifford) were married Oct. 23 — all in 1965.

Glenn and Phyllis were married at the First Methodist Church in Xenia. They have one daughter, Christine and Brent Pence and one grand-daughter, Paige Pence. Glenn continues to farm with his wife and family and stock fish in area ponds.

Fred and Coleen were married at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Tolstoy, S.D. They have three children: Angie and Jim Hoffman; Susan and Todd Dewey; and Mark Harner. They have four grandchildren: Ashlea and Pete Ohnsorg; Nicole Hoffman; Landon Hoffman and Tate Dewey. Fred is retired from farming, while Coleen is a retired registered nurse.

Roy and Patty were married at St. Brigid Catholic Church in Xenia. They have four children: Peggy Harner; Scott and Kristy Harner; Steven and Kristin Harner; and Josie and Kevin Prendergast. They have four grandchildren: Ben, Sarah, Keith and Sam Harner. Roy is retired from the Norfolk Southern Railroad, while Patty is a retired school principal.
