XENIA — Community members and leaders from Greene County will light a candle and stop for a moment in recognition of domestic violence victims at the annual “Pause for Peace” candlelight vigil next week. The event will be held 6 p.m. Oct. 5 at the Shawnee Park Pavilion in Xenia.

The vigil, hosted by the Family Violence Prevention Center of Greene County, will help to raise awareness about domestic violence in Greene County as part of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The entire community is invited to attend.

The program will include special music and singing from local artists and the “Clothesline Project,” a display of story-telling T-shirts created by center service recipients. Additionally, a survivor of family violence will share their personal story of how violence in the home strongly affected their life. The Shawnee Park Pavilion is located on South Park Drive in Xenia.

For more information about this event, call the center at 937-376-8526 or 937-426-6535.
