XENIA – Family Violence Prevention Center, Greene County’s sole provider of comprehensive domestic violence and sexual assault services is hosting its first diaper shower from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 6. Community members are encouraged to collect diapers and wipes for the center’s safe house and outreach service recipients. Individuals and groups can drop off the donations at the Family Violence Prevention Center in Xenia, located at 380 Bellbrook Ave.

Often, the victims of domestic violence do not arrive with the needed diapers or need them soon after the crisis has stabilized. The center assists with all the basic needs a family has, including diapers, which can place a strain on the shopping budget.

The staff at FVPC encourages participants to get creative with a diaper arrangement. Prizes will be given to most creative diaper arrangement and to the donor who brings the most diapers.
