YELLOW SPRINGS – Antioch University’s Ph.D in Leadership and Change program will celebrate its commencement at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1 at the Midwest campus, 900 Dayton Street, Yellow Springs. Twenty-three students who represent 14 states as well as Canada and Nigeria have successfully defended their dissertations this year and represent the 10th graduating class to complete the prestigious program.

“This year’s graduating class includes non-profit leaders, change consultants, entrepreneurs, social justice activists, community organizers, educators of all stripes, lawyers, and businessmen and women,” Dr. Laurien Alexandre, Provost, Antioch University Graduate School of Leadership and Change, said. “As socially engaged reflective scholar-practitioners, they leave the program prepared to lead with others, to learn with others, and to take their knowledge and skills forward to advance social, economic and environmental justice in all the ways that align with their passions and purposes.”

The following students have graduated in academic year 2014-15: Sylvia Asante, Al Barkouli, Randall Barlett, Janet Bell, Tom Borrup, Tom Eklin, Tom Ellison, Janice Ferguson, Tami France, Rodney Grist, Michael Guillot, Leah Hanes, Susan Hayes, Jerrid Kalakay, Jessica Litwak, Winston Maddox, Brenda Manuelito, Angel Martinez, Cynthia McKinney, Emmanuel Oluyitan, Chuck Powell, Carmella Rodriguez and Alpha Woodward.

Antioch University’s Ph.D in Leadership and Change program incorporates a challenging interdisciplinary core-curriculum that focuses on leading change coupled with faculty-mentored, self-paced individualized learning, and is designed for experienced professionals who are committed to studying and leading change that improves the well-being of those they serve.

The Ph.D in Leadership and Change program is part of Antioch University, which is founded on principles of rigorous liberal arts education and innovative experiential learning. The Ph.D in Leadership and Change program recently launched a new healthcare concentration where students are able to bring the lens of leadership and change to such topics as relationship-centered care, community access, education and advocacy, socially responsible and ethical decision making, and values-based change strategies in environments of high complexity.
