Fairborn City Council approves section nine of Waterford Landing

FAIRBORN — Fairborn City Council approved construction June 19 for an additional section of Waterford Landing, located east of Interstate-675, west of Byron Road and north of Oakes Quarry.

Section nine of the housing development will include 38 lots — 37 are aimed at constructing new dwelling units, while one will remain open to accommodate a retention pond. The 37 dwelling unit lots range from 6,300 square feet to 9,600 square feet. The open lot is slightly more than six acres in size.

The new section will additionally expand an existing street, Baywood Drive; and construct one new roadway, dubbed Regetta Park Drive.

A previous section of Waterford Landing is taking some compromise between the developer and Bath Township trustees before it can be completed due to a section of both the township’s parking lot and long-existing walking path being located in the housing development. If common ground between the housing development and Bath Township cannot be found, Waterford Landing would have to shift a street network over. It would result in Waterford Landing losing six-to-seven lots, as the walking path would cut through a number of backyards in the housing development.

“Our intention is to start construction in the next three-to-four weeks on that section … We will get it worked out with Bath Township before we lose six-to-seven lots,” CESO, Inc. Project Manager Lance Oakes said as the item was presented to council.

However, Oakes said he is confident that they can come to an agreement by the closing of the summer months.

“We want to try to be a good neighbor. We are trying to work this out with Bath Township as we speak,” Oakes said. “They’ve been very receptive and easy to work with so far. The next step is they’re supposed to get back with me on what they’re asking for. Depending on how that goes will [determine] what we do next.”
