DAYTON – Military Veterans Resource Center invites job-seeking veterans and spouses to attend a Veterans Career Workshop in which Veterans Services Specialists will help vets improve their job search skills and teach them to become more competitive candidates.

The workshop will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2 at the Volunteers of America of Greater Ohio’s Veterans Resource Center, located on the VA Medical Center Campus at 4100 W. Third St., Building 400.

“The career workshop is an opportunity for veterans to build their job search skills and practice translating their military accomplishments for civilian employers,” MVRC Executive Director Len Proper said. “Many past participants have received interview invitations soon after completing the workshop.”

The workshop will include resume and interview sessions and a one-on-one consultation with a Veterans Services Specialist. If veterans have a resume, they should bring it, as the Veterans Services Specialists will help them tailor it to their career of interest.

Participants must pre-register by contacting Kelley Koons at 937-329-9559 or [email protected]. The workshop has limited seating, so potential attendees are encouraged to call asap to reserve their spot.

Military Veterans Resource Center’s mission is to help veterans who honorably served become self-reliant in managing career and life decisions. MVRC is based in Columbus and operates five centers throughout Ohio. For additional information, visit www.milvetsrc.org.
