Best tastes of the county

BEAVERCREEK — The Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce catered to the tastes of the county with its 19th annual Taste of Greene County on Sunday, April 10.

More than 20 local food vendors set up to share their unique cuisine with the local community. There were new favorites such as Cake Hope and Love, Ele Cakes, and McAllister’s Deli, along with long-time well-knowns like Giovanni’s, Bob Evans, and Young’s Jersey Dairy.

Lines were long, and the Ervin J. Nutter Center was filled with local residents grazing the booths, hoping to sample some creations.

In addition to the food and beverages, there were activities for the children to enjoy. Cinderella and her Prince Charming even showed up to play with the children. Other community businesses came to show their support, as well. Representatives from First Light Home Care interacted with the children in the play area and talked with visitors. Kosin’s Tents and Events helped with the event setup.

Even a few community leaders were around to sample the food and show their support for this community event. Common Pleas Court Judge Stephen Wolaver attended with his daughter, as well as Juvenile Court Judge Adolfo Tornichio with his family. All said they enjoyed the food.

Soin Medical Center Chef, Jennifer Ball served her award-winning S’mores Shooters. In 2015 she won a contest for these sweet-healthy alternatives.

Many attendees would not divulge their favorites since they were casting secret votes.

Some suggestions for next year is to save plenty of room since there is so much to sample.
