FAIRBORN — Winsupply Inc., a supplier of residential and commercial construction and industrial supplies and equipment, has become a corporate partner with the Wright State University College of Engineering and Computer Science.

A recent Winsupply gift to the college supports student success initiatives, a top priority for the College of Engineering and Computer Science. The initiatives include activities promoting student recruitment, retention and completion, especially among underrepresented groups.

“Winsupply’s commitment helps prepare students with the tools they need to succeed and complete their degrees,” said Brian Rigling, dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science. “We are grateful that Winsupply recognized the importance of student success initiatives and that they are our partner in improving the outcomes for students.”

Winsupply will be recognized as a new member of the college’s Corporate Partner Program, which is designed to encourage corporate philanthropy and support for students as well as facilitate student engagement with regional employers. Ultimately, interactions between the students and companies like Winsupply are the building blocks that lead to long-term relationships, job opportunities and a strengthened workforce.

Winsupply has 600 partner companies, often referred as the Winsupply Family of Companies, in 45 states, and offers entrepreneurs the unique opportunity to own a meaningful part of the local business. The locations conduct business-to-business wholesale distribution of supplies in plumbing and heating, ventilation and cooling, pipe, electrical, water works, pumps, irrigation, and fire system fabrication.

Winsupply has some 7,000 employees nationwide, 400 of them in the Dayton area. The employees at the company’s campus on Kettering Boulevard and South Dixie Drive provide support services for the 600 distribution locations.

The company recently began construction in Moraine of the Richard W. Schwartz Center for Innovation, which will serve as a training facility for Winsupply support services employees. It will also be the new home of Winsupply of Dayton, a local distributor serving plumbing contractors. The 28,000-square-foot facility is a tribute to well-known Dayton businessman and philanthropist Richard Schwartz, the company’s chairman and former president and CEO.
