About 1,200 old flags were respectfully retired on Flag Day, June 14, at the Greene County Fairgrounds. A large crowd of community members showed up to watch the patriotic event in its fifth year. The ceremony is a way to properly retire and dispose old, worn, tattered or soiled flags. Residents dropped off their flags prior to the event and also brought them to the fairgrounds that day.
