Submitted photo The Fairborn Farmers’ Market is very active with a great number of vendors present each Wednesday morning to early afternoon at the Fifth-Third Commons lot in downtown Fairborn. Pictured is a pre-school field trip, and according to vendors, there are a number of various small children’s groups that come with chaperones.

FAIRBORN — Whether it is fresh fruit, vegetables, plants, honey, or other natural products, the best place to find what you are looking for is on Wednesdays in downtown Fairborn at the Farmers’ Market.

The Fairborn Farmers’ Market is located at the corner of Grand Avenue and Main Street in the Fifth-Third Commons lot. Patrons will find local home grown produce as well as produce native to other states from farmers who trade with one another to offer a greater variety. In addition to produce and plants, shoppers can find goat’s milk soap and lotions, items made from alpaca fur, items made with bee pollen, flowers and floral arrangements, and homemade baked goods. Whatever fresh items you seek, the Fairborn Farmers’ Market is sure to have.

Phil and Diane Hagstrom are long time farmers who have been a part of the market for years. Shoppers come to them for cooking tips, new recipes, and even requests for certain fruits and vegetables. They have seen people from all over the Miami Valley make a special trip to the market and, on occasion, they also see pre-schoolers come as part of a field trip to appreciate and experience a local market.

In addition to the shopping, patrons can also enjoy a little dining. Shoppers can enjoy a fresh lunch as L & L Concessions sets up a covered area for shoppers to sit and eat as they prepare quick meals for patrons.

Parking at Fifth-Third Commons is prohibited by anyone other than vendors on Wednesdays from 8 a.m. through mid-afternoon. Ample parking for shoppers is available on the streets that surround the market.
