Curylo leaves Raiders for UIC

FAIRBORN — Lynn Curylo, Wright State head softball coach the past six seasons, has accepted a similar position at the University of Illinois Chicago, her alma mater.

During her tenure, Curylo directed the Raiders to 147 wins, including a school-record 37 in 2016. WSU also posted an 18-6 mark in Horizon League play, with the 18 wins setting a program record. Over Curylo’s six years as head coach, Wright State posted a 77-54 record in league play.

WSU advanced to the league championship game in each of the last two seasons and advanced to the winner’s bracket final in 2013.

In all, five Raiders earned First Team All-Horizon League honors with Curylo at the helm, three of those in 2016 in shortstop Becka Peterson, pitcher Ashley Sharp and outfielder Honnah Susor. 14 players received Second Team honors, five were named to the All-Freshman/Newcomer Team and 10 were selected to the All-Tournament Team.
