Rams blanked by West Liberty-Salem

WEST LIBERTY — Greeneview was limited to one hit in Monday’s Ohio Heritage Conference loss to West Liberty-Salem.

Six WLS batters combined for nine hits, driving in eight runs and scoring 12 runs in the Tigers’ 16-0 win.

WLS is now 14-2 overall, 1-2 OHC. Greeneview is 5-5, 1-2 OHC. The Rams are scheduled to host Springfield Northeastern at 5 p.m. Friday.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Beavers defeat Westerville South

BEAVERCREEK — Maddie Frye scored four goals and had an assist, Mackenzie Sorensen scored three with an assist, Claire Sturkol scored twice with an assist, while Sabra Woodruff and Harmony Pierce each had a goal and an assist in Saturday’s 11-10 win over Westerville South.

Beavercreek had been scheduled to host Miamisburg on Tuesday night. No word on whether that game was rained out or not. They’re next contest is set for Thursday when they’re scheduled to host Cincinnati McNicholas.

BASEBALL

Panthers pounce on Fairborn

FAIRBORN — Visiting Springboro out-hit Fairborn 10 to 3 in Monday’s 10-0 win over the Skyhawks. Neither team recorded an error. The Panthers scored four runs in the second, four more in the third and two in the fifth to run-rule Fairborn.

Springboro sits atop the Greater Western Ohio Conference’s South Division standings at 7-0. They are 17-1 overall. Fairborn slips to 10-8 overall, 2-5 GWOC South. The Skyhawks are scheduled host Wayne next at 5 p.m. Thursday.

GOLF

Jamestown Chamber Golf Outing, May 13

JAMESTOWN — The annual Jamestown Chamber of Commerce golf outing is scheduled for Friday, May 13 at Sebastian Hills Golf Course, 1100 Knoll Haven Rd. in Xenia.

The outing will start at 11 a.m., with registration opening at 10 a.m. Come early to take advantage of the free driving range and putting green privileges, and grab a hot dog or two courtesy of Countryside Propane. When the golf is over, Kelley’s Café will be providing all participants and volunteers a wonderful meal at the golf course. Registration information for sponsorships and playing, including payment options, are available on the Chamber’s website (www.jtchamber.com) or by emailing [email protected]. The deadline for registration is Monday, May 9.

The annual golf outing is the main fundraising activity for the Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce which allows the Chamber to provide various activities, programs and scholarships to the Jamestown and surrounding communities.

Rotary Club outing, May 20

BEAVERCREEK — The Rotary Club of Beavercreek will host the 34th Annual Beavercreek Rotary Club Memorial Golf Outing Friday, May 20 at the City of Beavercreek Golf Club.

The four-team scramble format will provide prizes for skills competitions throughout the day. Check in begins at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start slated for 12:30 p.m. The awards ceremony will follow the scramble at 5 p.m. on the patio overlooking the course.

Cost for the scramble is $100 per person; $400 per foursome. The fee includes greens fee, cart, lunch, and refreshments. Registration is currently open. In addition, there are several opportunities for organizations to sponsor the event, including.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Beavercreek Schools’ Multi-handicapped classrooms, Wright State University scholarships, STEM fellowships and Owen’s Place.

Dragons single-game tickets on sale

DAYTON — Dayton Dragons 2016 single-game tickets will are now on sale at the Dragons Box Office located next to the main entry gates at Fifth Third Field.

Opening Day for the Dragons is set for 4 p.m., Saturday, April 9 against the Bowling Green Hot Rods. The Dragons are scheduled to play 70 home games during the regular season. They will officially begin their 17th season of Midwest League baseball April 7 at Bowling Green.

The box office will be open throughout the season from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. On weekend game dates, the box office will open at noon and close in the seventh inning. The box office will be closed on Saturdays and Sundays when the team is on the road.

Single-game tickets can be purchased in person, at the Dragons box office, any Miami Valley Kroger store, or any Ticketmaster outlet, online, at daytondragons.com, or by calling the Dragons Box office at (937) 228-2287; or Ticketmaster charge-by-phone at (937) 228-2323.
