Xenia Christian opens season with a win

ENON — The Xenia Christian Ambassadors tennis team defeated Greenon High School by a score of 3-0 in a rain-shortened match played on Thursday. The visiting Ambassadors secured three wins and were leading in the other two matches when the rain stopped play.

At first singles, Michael Bricker defeated Riley Furrell 6-0, 6-1; at second singles, Preston Surls defeated Brady Whittaker 6-0, 6-0; and at third singles Jansen Smart was leading Mike Deering 6-1, 5-0.

At first doubles, Ethan Croucher and Matthew Sullivan defeated Ryan McNeil and Amon Hartschel 6-5, 7-2; and at second doubles, Luke Neikirk and David Rose were leading Colin Cambell and Jaylen Shatto, 6-4. The Ambassadors host Bellbrook on Tuesday in a match scheduled to be played at the Fairgrounds Recreation Center.

Dragons hosting Kids Club luncheon, Tuesday

DAYTON — Dayton Dragons players Narciso Crook and Shed Long along with Dragons mascots Heater and Gem will participate in a luncheon on Tuesday, April 5 to introduce the 2016 Frisch’s Dragons Kids Club. The luncheon will take place at Frisch’s Big Boy, 3110 Colonel Glenn Hwy, at noon on Tuesday. The public is invited. Players will be available to sign autographs. Crook, Long, Heater, Gem, and Big Boy, the Frisch’s mascot, will all also be available for pictures with fans.

The Frisch’s Dragons Kids Club package, available for a fifth consecutive year, is just $15.00 per child.

Each member will receive:

• Dragons t-shirt

• Drawstring backpack

• Four (4) Dragons game tickets

• Dragons hat

• A gift card for a free Kid’s Meal at participating Frisch’s Big Boy locations

• Dragons tumbler cup

• Invite for two (2) to an exclusive Kids Club Movie Night

• Two (2) A&S Play Zone passes

• Entry into monthly prize drawings
