No. 18 Kentucky Wesleyan handles Central State, 101-67

WILBERFORCE — The Marauders of Central State University had their three-game winning streak snapped at the hands of No. 18 ranked Kentucky Wesleyan on Wednesday night.

A much bigger team, KWC used its size to get out to a healthy 11-2 lead and never looked back. Five players scored in double-figures for the Panthers, including a game-high 21 points from C.J. Blackwell. KWC shot 63 percent from the field and an efficient 10 for 17 from beyond the arc. The Panthers also won the rebound war, 38-20, as they improved to 20-3 on the season.

Jeremy Brown paced the Marauder scoring with 16 points followed by 14 from Tre’ Edwards. With the loss, the Marauders fall to 9-12 overall.

The Marauders return to Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference competition when they host rival Kentucky State in the final home game of the season at 8 p.m. this Saturday.
