FREEHOLD, N.J. (AP) — Wiggle It Jiggleit is harness racing’s Horse of the Year.

The Little Brown Jug winner easily outdistanced Hambletonian winner Pinkman 130-3 in balloting among members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association. The results were announced on Thursday.

Horse of the Year capped an awards hat trick for the colt. He was also crowned Pacer of the Year and champion 3-year-old Pacing Colt.

Wiggle It Jiggleit won 22 of 26 races, including the Meadowlands Pace. He earned $2.18 million, topping all North American standardbreds this season.

It was the second Horse of the Year for owner George Teague, Jr. of Harrington, Delaware. Teague’s 24-year-old son Montrell drove the colt all season. Wiggle It Jiggleit was trained by Clyde Francis.

Pinkman captured two Dan Patch Award consolation prizes: Trotter of the Year and Champion 3-year-old Trotting Colt. He won 11 of 17 starts.
