Norman reaches Qatar

DOHA, Qatar — Grace arrived late Sunday night in Doha, Qatar after nearly 24 hours of travel. We were greeted warmly by a welcoming committee dressed in traditional Qatarian attire even that late at night. The people of Qatar are very excited to be hosting Paralympians from so many nations. Signs and flags are everywhere!

The weather in Qatar is quite different from Ohio. The sun rises at 5:30 a.m. with remarkable heat. Ninety five degrees is the normal daytime temperature. The only reasonable place to be at midday is the pool! The sun sets at 5:30 p.m. and with it comes a very welcome temperature change to the low 80’s. All track practice and events don’t start until then! — Robin Norman.
