Miamisburg blanks Skyhawks

MIAMISBURG — Fairborn had the experience of playing last year’s Greater Western Ohio Conference South Division champions. Adding to the difficulty of an already daunting task was the fact that the Lady Skyhawks were playing without their number one player Brooklyn Hunter.

The result was a short night across the board for the visitors.

Playing her first career match at first singles, Acadia Wulf fell 0-9 and 0-6 to Carley Sickinger. At #2 singles, Kayla Secrest fell to Mikaza Hindenlang by the same 0-6, 0-6 score.

Playing in her first match for the Skyhawks, Japanese exchange student Maika Hayashi was blanked by Jada Strikland (0-6, 0-6).

The doubles matches were basically more of the same. Shayna Osborne and Preslee Chapman were dropped 0-6 and 0-6 by Catherine Rat and McKenzie Hindenlang.

Rounding out the night Dakota Thacker and Megan Koonce fell 0-6 and 2-6 versus Kaite Hubler and Cheyenne Mitchell.

Fairborn is now 4-3 overall, and dropped its first GWOC South match in the process. Northmont visits the Community Park Courts at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Fairborn girls beat Tecumseh
