GREENE COUNTY — And then there was one.
After 10 weeks of regular season football, the Greene County area finished out with a trio of teams that finished with winning records. But only Greeneview earned enough computer points to advance to the post season and a Week 11 football game.
The Rams finished the season undefeated, and will be a No. 6 seed in the final Division V, Region 20 computer rankings. They’ll meet up with Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy in the first round at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2 at CHCA.
Greeneview, incidentally, finished the regular season as the area’s only state-ranked high school football team. A panel of Associated Press-member sportswriters and broadcasters (which included a voting representative here at the Greene County News) chose the Rams as Ohio’s fifth ranked team in Division V.

You need at least 22 to have a complete offense and defense for practices! With sometimes lopsided losses to larger teams, the Indians players had many reasons to throw in the towel and give up, but they persevered. That courage and determination paid off in week 10: They defeated Springfield Catholic Central 41-0!
Cole Ryan, defensive lineman, Carroll — The 5-foot-10, 240-pound Patriots freshman forced two fumbles and recovered two fumbles in Carroll’s 13-7 road loss to Fenwick.
Justin Sloan, running back, Bellbrook — A 5-6, 135-pound junior, Sloan turned in his sixth 100-plus yard game of the season (107 yards on 18 carries) in Bellbrook’s shutout road win over Oakwood. Sloan finished the regular season with 1,040 yards, good for seventh among all rushers in the Southwestern Buckeye League.
K.J. Redmon, running back, Fairborn — With his biggest single-game output of the season, Redmon surpassed the 1,000-yard mark in rushing this season. Redmon gained 211 yards on 36 carries and scored twice in Fairborn’s win over Xenia. The 6-foot, 195-pound senior gained 1,026 yards this season and scored 13 touchdowns.
Sincere Wells, running back, Xenia — Wells, a 5-9, 190-pound junior, turned in his third 200-plus yard rushing output of the season in a loss at Fairborn. He rushed for 201 yards on 30 carries and scored twice for the Buccaneers. Wells finished with the fifth most rushing yards in the Greater Western Ohio Conference with 1,350 on 210 hauls, scoring 15 touchdowns.
