Randall earns two silver medals

PERTH, Australia — She started out her competition at the 2016 World Masters Athletics Championships with a bronze medal in the women’s W40 5,000-meter racewalk, but on Tuesday, Nov. 1 Beavercreek resident Susan Randall earned two silver medals in the women’s W40 10,000-meter event — one for finishing second in the individual race; the other for combining efforts with fellow Team USA competitors Debra Bridges, of Portland, Oregon, and Elisabeth Shepard, of Denver, to finish second in the W40 team competition behind Columbia.

Her time in the 10K was 53:52.00. Cheryl Webb, of Australia, won the individual event with a time of 53:30.00.

Randall will compete next in the women’s 20,ooo-meter racewalk on Friday.

BEAVERCREEK — Ohio Celtic Alliance U13 Girls White Team earns 2nd place trophy at Haunted Classic – the nation’s largest two-day soccer tournament

Nearly 600 teams and 9,000 players traveled up to 400 miles from five different states to compete in the 8th Annual Haunted Classic Soccer Tournament Oct. 15-16, but it was Ohio Celtic Alliance’s U13 Girls White team that walked away with the second place trophy for the tournament’s U13 Girls Blue Division. The team includes: (front row) Kaili Volmer, Kenna Snyder, Ella Houser, Abby Mundey, Zoe Lamb, Ella Lamb, Kelsey Volmer, Grace Randall, (second row) Coach Taylor Bollinger, Maddie Medina, Aubrey Mackay, Lauren Reagan, Clare Nartker, Rachel Gay, Courtney Maxwell and Peyton Bundy.

Women’s soccer falls in tourney

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. — An early second-half goal proved to be the difference as the Wright State women’s soccer team fell at Northern Kentucky, 1-0, on Monday, Oct. 31 in the first round of the Horizon League Tournament.

Meet the team night at Beavercreek

BEAVERCREEK — Beavercreek’s basketball teams will be introduced from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22 at the Ed Zink Fieldhouse at Beavercreek High School. The boys and girls high school and middle school teams will there along with cheerleaders, the pep band, the Beaverettes and the Beavercreek Stars.

Meet the FHS girls basketball team

FAIRBORN — The Fairborn girls basketball team will be introduced from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5 in the Fairborn Baker Middle School Gymnasium. The Fairborn Skyhawks youth basketball teams, Baker Middle School seventh- and eighth-grade teams, Fairborn High School junior varsity and the Fairborn varsity team will all be introduced to the public and will demonstrate their skills. There will be concessions available, a 50/50 raffle, prizes and more.
