CEDARVILLE — Cedarville was selected No. 2 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Coaches Preseason Poll presented by Under Armour.

The Lady Jackets were the G-MAC runner-up last season finishing 22-8 overall and shared the regular season title with tournament champion Ursuline at 12-2.

CU is under the direction of first-year Head Coach Kari Hoffman. The former Lady Jacket All-American is optimistic about what lies ahead.

“We’re excited to be selected second and it gives us some motivation to bring the championship back to Cedarville,” remarked Hoffman.

“Our players are hungry and anxious to get the season going. We know the league is going to be tough this year and we’re looking forward to the challenge.”

Ursuline is the unanimous choice to repeat as champion. Rounding out the top half of the poll are Cedarville, Kentucky Wesleyan, and Trevecca.

Positions five-through-eight belong to Davis & Elkins, Malone, Ohio Valley, and Alderson Broaddus.

The Lady Jackets open the season 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11 at Ashland in the opening round of the GLIAC/G-MAC Challenge.
