Election Letter deadline

Election letters to the editor on candidates and ballot issues will be accepted for the daily newspapers until 12 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31. We do not run letters to the editor immediately prior to the election. For more information on letters, see the policy posted on our editorial pages in our newspapers.

Don’t wait until the last minute as we receive many letters the final weeks before the election and some may not run due to space constraints. Letters must be original, 350 words or less, written by the person submitting it or they may be rejected.

Dr. Winston for council

Editor:

This is a very important, non-partisan election year for the residents of the City of Xenia as they elect two members to city council. The field of candidates is strong with each individual bringing their own views and perspective to the table for the voters to decide. It is a choice that should not be taken lightly. It is a choice that should be thought through and made with the best interest of the entire community in mind.

I had the honor and privilege to serve with Dr. Eric Winston in the mid 1990s on this council and was always impressed with his thorough approach to the various issues brought before council. Eric has always been a true leader, a man with family values, a man who excelled in his career, a man of integrity and a committed public servant. Yes, Eric is my friend, a friend who I value and regard as one of the top candidates for Xenia City Council. It is my pleasure to endorse Dr. Eric VA Winston for Xenia City Council and encourage the voter’s of the City of Xenia to put Eric Winston back on Xenia City Council.
