Remembering Christel Lott

XENIA — Christel Lott was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Greene County Historical Society. One of her great pleasures was to demonstrate bitter churning. She also made lye soap, which she insisted was wonderful for her complexion. When she and her husband were courting, often they would both fall asleep on the way home, but the horse knew the way, so there was no danger of being lost. However, if the horse stopped for a drink in Caesar’s Creek, often the buggy would get pulled into the water and they both got wet feet and wakened quickly.
