XENIA TOWNSHIP – Born in Xenia Township in 1830, he fought in the Civil War. He was discharged after being wounded at the battle at Stone River. He served two terms as county treasurer. For a while he was in the lumber business, then retired to his farm. He donated a portion of the land which now the Greene County Fairgrounds, and his property, known as “Dick’s Hill” was one of the most popular places for winter sledding in the area. It is thought that Galloway Street was named in his honor.
