Remembering Betty Pavey

XENIA — For many years, the mention of roses brought to mind Betty Pavey who founded the Xenia Garden Club and the Greene County Rose Society. She served as the national chairperson of rose arranging for the American Rose Society and was also chairperson of the World Rose Show. She received the Gold Medal Honor from the American Rose Society, its highest honor. She wrote a book on rose arrangements and culture titled “Say It With Roses.” The Xenia “rose lady” died in 1994.
