XENIA — The future of the government at all levels will be in the hands of voters during the upcoming primary election, taking place Tuesday, March 15.

Candidates for most of these positions will meet voters at the Xenia Adult Recreation and Services Center, 130 E. Church St., Thursday, Feb 18. The event will include Democrats and Republicans from the U.S. House and Senate, Ohio House and Senate, numerous county and judicial positions and central committee members at the state and local level.

From 6 to 7 p.m., the candidates who are running unopposed for their office will be available to chat one-on-one with voters about the office or their background and philosophy. Beginning 7 p.m., candidates in contested races will each speak in a formal setting for up to three minutes, then give the audience an opportunity to ask questions.

Contested races include the US Senate, Ohio House and Senate, County Commissioners and State Central Committee. Following the formal presentations, voters can meet one-on-one with candidates for coffee, cookies and conversation.
