DAYTON – Veterans, current military service members and spouses can receive free job search assistance at a Veterans Career Workshop Thursday, Nov. 5.

Hosted by Military Veterans Resource Center (MVRC), the workshop will teach vets the skills they need to be better job candidates. It will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Volunteers of America of Greater Ohio’s Veterans Resource Center, located on the Dayton VA Medical Center Campus at 4100 W. Third St., Building 400.

“We’re here to help veterans feel confident in their job search,” MVRC Executive Director Len Proper said. “They’ll learn how to stay relaxed during the interview and talk about their skills with employers.”

The workshop will include a resume session, where MVRC Veterans Services Specialists will help participants polish their resumes. The vets will also have the opportunity to improve their interview skills with local employers. Lunch will be provided at the midday break.

Participants must pre-register by contacting Kelley Koons at 937-329-9559 or [email protected]. The workshop has limited seating.

Military Veterans Resource Center helps veterans who served honorably become self-reliant in managing their career and life decisions. MVRC is based in Columbus and operates five centers throughout Ohio. For additional information, visit www.milvetsrc.org.
